Guides in Wimborne Wimborne District Guides

Guides are girls aged between ten and fourteen.

At Guides we are able to experience exciting challenges with friends in a safe environment, whilst having lots of fun!

Girls can have a different experience every week with other girls of a similar age.

Guides get to try a wide range of activities appropriate to their age, abilities and interests. We can discover, decide, plan, do and evaluate our experiences with the guidance of our trained volunteer Leaders. We constantly seek to challenge ourselves, whilst developing our individual life skills, confidence and knowledge. We Guides learn to think and act for ourselves, and we develop respect for the environment and a sense of community through the wide variety of badges we can earn. We can work towards achieving the BP Challenge Award and spend time away with our friends either camping or in residential accommodation.

The best part is Guides get to choose what we can do, whether it is an outdoor adventure like canoeing, archery, abseiling, hiking, camping, cooking damper over a fire or just sitting around a campfire singing, chatting and sharing a joke or two. We get to choose our range of indoor activities: it could be a special recipe, being creative, working as a team planning our next adventures or exploring another culture and faith.
